United KingdomI had the great good fortune of dating a young woman who was a native of that part of England when I was A Rhodes Scholar working on my Doctorate In genetics. The place is breathtakingly gorgeous and transfoms you back in time to a quasi 16th or 17th century village life; where things move leisurely and people are extremely friendly and helpful. It really is quite unbeleivable and is a must-see for any lucky tourist visiting England! Please go if you are visiting our english ancestors ; you will never forget it nor have any regrets except the fact you have to leave for your own home sooner or later. As someone who is a knowledgeable world traveler I rate it a a 9.7 out of a possible 10!!!!!!

We were in London when we decided to rent a car and drive...to wherever we might end up. Have taken many trips to wonderful and beautiful places around the world. One evening we arrived in a place from the Movies. It was foggy but so fantastic. I was there 10 years ago and am still talking about one of the coolest places I have traveled. The evening we pulled in I thought we'd entered the middle ages. Incredible. All who can should pass thru there.

All I can say is you will miss a large part of this beautiful part of the UK if you donât hire a car and drive it. We visited 15 years ago and I must say the most memorable fun we had was getting lost and stopping to ask directions. The locals are not as knowledgeable about places and directions as you would imagine but we met some wonderful people saw sights we would never have seen otherwise and had a great time. You will not be disappointed!
