When visiting family we actually heard about Haleiwa but had no clue how to get there until we stumbled upon it one day!!! This is the best little town Hawaii has to offer!!! You must try their shaved ice!! Venture off the beaten path and you will see some of the most beautiful homes you have ever saw!!!... More

I have been to Oahu every summer for the last 5 years and the first thing I want to do is drive to Haleiwa and have dinner and drinks at Haleiwa Joes. Clark has bartended there for all the visits I have made for the past 5 years and he is the best mixologist ever. The coconut shrimp and fried mushrooms are to die for. Paradise Pie for desert and it couldn't be better. I love to stay at Sharks Cove rentals owned by John and Wilma Lane. Right across the Kam highway from a fantastic snorkeling spot... More

Paradise Pie for desert and it couldn't be better. I love to stay at Sharks Cove rentals owned by John and Wilma Lane. Right across the Kam highway from a fantastic snorkeling spot on the North Shore. There are so many things to do and see near this location. The Autobaun Society has a great hike to a wonderful water falls just a short distance from both Haleiwa and Sharks Cove. Further up the Kam highway is Pipeline and Sunset beaches. Staying on the North Shore is so relaxing. It is as different as night and day compared to staying in the Big City area of Honolulu. Don't get me wrong a trip to the Honolulu area is a must during a vacation on the island of Oahu. A meal at the Hard Rock Cafe is a must. You must make a stop at the flea market at Aloha Stadium on the weekend or on Wednesdays. No one should ever go to Hawaii without an all day visit to the Polyneasian Cultural Center. Back in Haleiwa an afternoon visit to one of the many shave ice suppliers with the many wonderful flavors is a given. My name is Allen Bishop and I love Hawaii. ALOHA Mahalo

My favorite lunch place in Haleiwa is Jameson's. And don't forget in the Market Place shopping center that there is North Shore Swimwear which makes custom-made bathing suits for very reasonable prices...Oh to be there right now!!!!... More
