I have been to Bermuda too many times to count...mostly while working for an airlines and recently to visit a time share unit. I have Never been on a cruise. BE CAREFUL ..on the beaches and don't bring anything of value..unless one of you intends to go stay on the beach..you are apt to be visited by a bunch of motor bike hoods or have a lookout on the beach and then when your party goes in the water together will steal anything of value-cameras watches money etc. We noticed the guys sitting on the rock in the water just eyeballing the beach for his chance to call his buddy to run and jump on any bare blanket waiting in the bushes with his bike...
The food is OK but VERY expensive. The cheapest meal at a local joint will cost you 25.00 for a burger and coke and a dinner w/table cloth and wine will run you 200-250.00.
Even though its a very expensive place ...IT is beautiful and a definate place to see and the snorkeling is the BEST I've ever seen!!! You must go at least once!!! Very romantic place with the motor bikes (can't rent a car-NO ONE! It's either a bus or moped!)...and great for golf.

My wife and I have been to Bermuda on pleasure and business.about 12 times. It is certainly the most beautiful island on this earth. We usually fly but have taken several cruises to Bermuda. The people are very friendlly and there is no poverty as we know it. I've played tennis at the old Sonesta but never got to the many beautful golf courses. We had planned to go this yearl 2008 but even with flying and lodging at the Hamilton Princess the cost is out of the question almost $2500 for three days including flight from LGA or JFK but no meals except maybe contintental breakfast.

From the beaches to the shopping to the recreation...I was utterly bored to tears during my two-day stay here as a stop along a cruise. I did find an art gallery in the port area where the clerk was amazingly rude to me. I walked through several of the rooms found something I loved (a 3 ft x 4 ft watercolor) hanging on a wall and proceeded over to the shopkeeper to tell her I had found something of interest. The clerk copped attitude (for an unknown reason) sighed and yelled \Well you have to bring the painting to me!\ I informed her that as an art buyer I was not accustomed to yanking a $500 painting off a wall walking it over and slapping it down on the counter as though I were purchasing a bunch of bananas. She then said \Oh. Well show me the painting\ to which my reply was \I won't be spending a penny in your shop with that attitude.\ Then I stormed out of the door.Overall that was just a small part of a very boring miserable stay while in Bermuda. For those who love it I am not sure what you see that I don't...but please go and enjoy! I won't be back.
