Hamilton, Bermuda: When to Go and Weather
Weather: The weather in Bermuda is just about perfect for a good part of the year. The warm Gulf Stream flows nearby, tempering ocean winds and keeping the weather mild around sub-tropical Hamilton. The temperature of the water almost matches that of the air in the warmest months, inviting swimmers and water sports enthusiasts during spring, summer, and the start of fall.
Rainfall is evenly distributed, more or less, throughout the year. Each month, Bermuda receives about four inches of rain, though the numbers can be higher during the summer months, when tropical storms at sea affect Hamilton weather.
Summer: In summer, temperatures soar into the upper 80s and 90s in Hamilton. But it's the humidity that really drains the energy from travelers who stay out on the beach all day. It's extremely important to hydrate properly and to wear plenty of sunscreen during this season. The average temperature is 86 degrees F.
Fall: The water is still warm, but the extreme heat and humidity starts to decrease. Hamilton weather is pleasant in fall, with the exception of occasional rain and winds from tropical storms or hurricanes out at sea in August or September. The average temperature is 80 degrees F.
Winter: Hamilton is a golfer's paradise in winter. The temperatures are mild, often in the 60s, and the sun shines nearly every day. The average temperature is 64 degrees F.
Spring: Warm sunshine and occasional cloudbursts characterize spring in Hamilton, one of the nicest times to travel to Aruba. The average temperature is 72 degrees F.

When to Go: Peak Season
April through October are the peak months to visit Hamilton. While Hamilton weather can be uncomfortably hot and sticky in July and August, visitors to Bermuda love the bath water-like temperature of the ocean water during this time. Even into September, temperatures can hit 90 degrees F, so make sure that the hotel you're booking is air-conditioned. The cruise ship crowds descend onto the area's beaches every day in summer, so be prepared to share your stretch of sand. Also be sure to set aside some extra cash in your vacation budget: rates at hotels and restaurants are at the year's highest during this peak season.
When to Go: Off Season
The winter months of December and January are the off season for everyone but golfers and tennis players. True, fewer cruise ships pass by Bermuda at this time, and not all businesses are open, but it's the ideal time to play 18 holes or swing a racket thanks to the mild temperatures and frequent sunshine. In some cases, hotel rates are literally just half that of the peak season, and the only place you'll encounter crowds is, perhaps, at tee time. Temperatures average between 60 and 70 degrees F during winter, with occasional rain showers and mild breezes.
When to Go: Shoulder Season
Hamilton's shoulder season offers the best of both worlds. Golfers and tennis enthusiasts will appreciate the mild weather, swimmers will like the warm sun and ocean water, and the crowds are significantly smaller than in summer. Hotel rates are usually less, as well, though you'll want to reserve well ahead of time due to the destination's popularity. Because the cruise ship traffic doesn't really get going until the start of summer, you'll probably be able to find a secluded area of sand where you can sunbathe in peace if you're willing to travel in spring or fall.
