MUCH FUN 
I've been there three times also in 1994, 2000, and 2006.  People are SO nice, and the food is amazing.  Good prices on hotels.  In the city, some things may be more expensive, but that is expected since there are more tourists who stay in the city... I've found many things outside for much less. Surprisingly the major beaches and waters over there are so beautiful and quiet!  There are so many beach resorts if you end up going out of the city.  It really feels like you have the whole place/beach to yourself! Overall, Ho Chi Minh is a really fun place to vacation and I would go back many more times!... :)
