My wife and I had a stopover in HK airport for about 9 hours and it was the most boring experience in travel so far for us. We asked info for suggestions how we can enjoy our stopover but the people in info counter don't have any affirmative answer they could hardly express in English what they were trying to convey. There was a lady currency changer who was not happy at all when I asked her to compute in details from US $ to Phil. Peso. The food in the pre-departure area don't have reasonabl... More

There was a lady currency changer who was not happy at all when I asked her to compute in details from US $ to Phil. Peso. The food in the pre-departure area don't have reasonable prices and we could not find comfortable lounging area for passengers with long stopovers we went to some lounges but they were all membership lounge. I suggest that personnel dealing in foreign travelers must be able to communicate well (if possible in English) and they must do so with a smile and proper informations re comfortable lounges and other entertainment venue must be well relayed to passengers with long stopover. A 24 hour movie theater would be nice just like Singapore. We hope to drop by HK airport again with much improvement. Thanks. Dan and Linda Casquejo

This was the most unfriendly airport that I have ever been in. I stopped there twicw on my way to another city in China. The food was terrible and quite high for what you got. The airport itself is very confusing and the staff was less than helpful. Had it not been for other travelers that spoke English(In a city that used to be British controlled and predominately English spoken) I probably would have still been there. The airlines need to represent themselves a whole lot better. Would not go there unless I had to. China as whole is quite unique and inexpensive to visit. % star hotel where I visited was about $150.00 usd per night.

Quite a vibrant city. I stayed in the Hotel Nikko in HK in December 2007 and was impressed by the size of the hotel rooms. The view frommy roomoverlooking Victoria Harbour was fantastic. The shopping was great if you know where to go and how to bargain. I was able to purchase some very nice pearls for a fraction of the cost in the US. The dining cannot be matched anywhere in the world. You have your choice of any food that tempts your pallette. I love the city and will plan to go back soo... More

This city remains the #1 location for Westerners who want to enjoy a vibrant Aisan city. It has it all - dining from elegant to street food; bargain venders to the highest end designer shops; malls competing to be the biggest stylish design and most high end stores; spectacular views; theme parks; museums and galleries; beaches; efficient and cheap transportation; good weather; and nice people. It has it all - dining from elegant to street food; bargain venders to the highest end designer shops; malls competing to be the biggest stylish design and most high end stores; spectacular views; theme parks; museums and galleries; beaches; efficient and cheap transportation; good weather; and nice people. The big downside is the cost of accommodations and small size of most hotel rooms however they do have cheap hostels with no frills. Some include free wi-fi. This is the city to explore and it is safe. If you look there are fantastic discoveries everywhere. English is spoken almost everywhere and other languages are available also. You could fall in love with HK just as NYC San Francisco Paris London Rio or any other very large city with limited space.
