Maui - Best Views of Neighbor Islands Close to Everything QuieHonokowai is located between the better-known resort areas of Kaanapali and Kapalua on on upper west Maui (north of Lahaina). This area of Maui has mostly low-rise condominium complexes along the oceanfront (unlike Kaanapali or Kapalua). In many Honokowai condo complexes your room is within 100 feet of the water (or closer). This is especially true at complexes such as Kulakane Nohonani Makani Sands Hoyochi Nikko and Lokelani where every condo has a 180-degree ocean view and each is within 50 feet of the water.Historic Lahaina with its fabulous shopping and restaurants is home to nearly all water activities on Maui (diving whale watching sailing parasailing sunset cruises kayaking surfing and day trips to neighboring islands to name just a few). Lahaina is just 4 miles south of Honokowai but is too crowded most of the year to be a relaxing place to stay. Kaanapali and Kapalua beaches both consistently rated among the \best in the world\ are 1 and 2 miles respectively from Honokowai. That's the great thing about Honokowai - when you're in your condo there you can enjoy the best ocean views (and best sunsets) available anywhere on Maui - right from your lanai at the above-named condo complexes or from the oceanfront rooms available at the other complexes. Snorkeling on the Honokowai reef is excellent (unless the surf is up - then it is poor everywhere). When you want exciting night life any of the great water activities or golf at either of the famous Kaanapali or Kapalua golf courses - they're just minutes away. There's a farmer's market every MWF mornings across the street from Honokowai Park (easily walkable from anywhere in Honokowai) a great coffee place plus plenty of places to rent snorkel gear surfboards and other water toys. Most Honokowai accomodations are much less expensive than the big-name areas.Relaxing afforable great views great sunsets and close to everything - Honokowai has it all.
