Ibiza, Spain: When to Go and Weather
Weather: Ibiza is graced by more than 300 days of sunshine each year. The island, part of the Balearic Islands, is situated just off the coast of Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. Both the summer and winter are relatively mild in comparison with some of the Spanish islands, though the beaches heat up to the 90 degree range on summer afternoons and winters can be cloudy and cold. The temperature never dips down to anywhere near the freezing level, though, so Ibiza is quiet but comfortable in winter.
Summer: Hot sun and warm sea bring the tourists in hordes. Ibiza weather is cooler in the evenings when young partygoers migrate to nightclubs. The average temperature is 78 degrees F and the average monthly rainfall is less than 0.05 inches.
Fall: Crisp, sunny weather characterizes Ibiza in fall. The average temperature is 66 degrees F and the average monthly rainfall is 0.7 inches.
Winter: A few cloudy days make Ibiza winter gloomy, but the temperatures stay up in the 50s most days. The average temperature is 53 degrees F and the average monthly rainfall is 1.5 inches.
Spring: The excitement of summer builds during Ibiza's spring. The days are long and filled with sunshine, and though the sea is cold for swimming, the beach scene gets going again. The average temperature is 63 degrees F and the average monthly rainfall is 0.2 inches.

When to Go: Peak Season
European jet-setters and American tourists alike make a beeline to Ibiza in summertime. The months of July, and August are hot on the beaches, but the ocean is as warm as it gets at this time, making all kinds of water sports possible. It goes without saying that all of the most desirable hotels and resorts are booked solid through these months, so travelers should plan their vacations as far ahead as possible. You'll be sharing the sandy coast with thousands of sunbathers, restaurants are packed, and you'll bump elbows with other out-of-towners in every cafe, shop, and nightclub.
When to Go: Off Season
Ibiza shuts down in winter (at least to an extent.) During the chilliest months of December, January, and February, many hotels and businesses close for renovations or the owners' vacations, but visitors can still find a modest selection of accommodations in the area. The temperatures are comfortable for outdoor activities, however, such as riding bikes or taking a stroll, with average highs reaching into the 60s - just be sure to bundle up in case the clouds roll in and a cold wind starts whipping. The summertime glitz and glamour of Ibiza aren't on display at this time, so the atmosphere is laid-back and quiet.
When to Go: Shoulder Season
Ibiza weather is usually fair and sunny during the shoulder seasons of spring and fall. April and May see highs in the upper 60s and 70s, and plenty of sunshine: this is a relaxed time to golf, hike, and appreciate Ibiza's natural beauty before the craziness of summer begins. Autumn, too, is warm and pleasant in Ibiza, with afternoon temperatures in the 70s. Hotel rates are somewhat discounted from their full season rates during the shoulder season, but weekends can be busy with families and couples on a quick getaway, and annual events and festivals can bring extra visitors to the island, as well.
