Innsbruck is located between two alpine mountain ranges; a rugged, craggy limestone range and a range that is granite, which means the hills are gentler and easier. Both are great for day trips; I stayed at a small inn in a village outside Innsbruck, which was even cheaper than the city. It was close enough to go to Innsbruck for dinner.
