Over the past seven yearsI have made five (5) vacation trips to Europe. Innsbruck Austria has been a stop on each of those trips and I am yet to be disappointed. The Restaurants, hotels, historical sites and routine daily activities all provide outstanding entertainment and visitor support. From the old olympic village to the old city with the art and music at the Landstheater, there was fun and entertainment for the entire three generations of my family. Our day trips to locations 1-2 hours away were sensational.

Went backpacking through Europe, stayed at this little youth hostel. Went skiing for the day. I was one of the highlights of my trip and something that I will never forget.

Innsbruck is located between two alpine mountain ranges; a rugged, craggy limestone range and a range that is granite, which means the hills are gentler and easier. Both are great for day trips; I stayed at a small inn in a village outside Innsbruck, which was even cheaper than the city. It was close enough to go to Innsbruck for dinner. I took a lunch and a camera on the hikes. I got some great photographs and every day an animal showed up looking for a share of my lunch -- crows, goats, cows--it was like a trip to Heidi. The people are very friendly. They are also hikers; many spend their lunch hours hiking. The local equivalent of hello is "gruss Gott" which means "Greet God."

My advise to all who have made plans to visit this lovely town,leave all your problems and attitudes behind,dont rush all over the Place,take a deep breath and enjoy this town to the fullest, also check out Zoo.
