I have been to Istanbul twice, and was fortunate to go with my daughter who taught in Ankara. She knows the City and the Country very well, so she took me to all the museums and to the best restaurants, as well as all of the must see sites, and we stayed in the best inexpensive hotels, near Topkapi Palace. The food is excellent, the people are wonderful, and the history is amazing. Don't miss Konya, Cappadocia, Pamukale, Ankara, Antalya, and Amasra on the Black Sea. I would go to Turkey every y ... Another is staying at the Four Seasons and gazing from the hotel's rooftop overlooking the Hafia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the sea. ... Read Full Review | Report This

The various types of food were very enjoyable and look forward to returning there in the future. A must city to visit. ... Read Full Review | Report This

Loved both Istanbul and Ankara. Was there with my husband and father. It was hot and dusty but otherwise totally enjoyable. Prices at the Grand Bazaar were reasonable as long as you bargained. Brought home excellent earrings and scarves as well as leather goods. Food was GREAT but definitely not American style. Am looking forward to going again now that I am retired. Well worth it to pay for a good sightseeing tour or hire a driver for a day. ... Read Full Review | Report This
