Built under the direction of John Wingate Weeks, a leading conservationist, U.S. congressman, U.S. senator and secretary of war under presidents Harding and Coolidge; this 420-acre estate at the very top of Mt. Prospect includes the house and grounds which spectacular views of the Presidential Range of the White Mountains, Green Mountains of Vermont, Kilkenny Range, Percy Peaks and the upper Connecticut River Valley. The main house, the \"Lodge,\" is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Listed in the National Historic Lookout Register, the fieldstone tower in front of the house was originally built as both an observatory and water tower.
