Beirut's Little Cousin
Jounieh is bustling with activity, traffic and wonderful little shops and restaurants. You'll pass through this amazing suburb that hugs the Mediterranean between Beirut and Byblos. The shopping is more European in this area and expensive. There is Mt. Harisa, with the statue of the Blessed Mother overlooking Jounieh. This is the gateway to the northern shores of Tripoli and while in this beautiful and inviting suburb, take a trip along the Mediterranean to the Casino du Liban for a bit of gambling and catch a great dinner in one of the numerous restaurants sitting on the water. Lovely place!!! My friend Annie has a flat overlooking the Mediterranean in Jounieh so I am lucky to have a magnificent view while enjoying breakfast on the balcony or a glass of wine in the evening while checking out the dancing lights on the water.
