Born in KC and lived in the Shawnee Mission area. My dad retired and we moved to Phoenix. I have friends in the KC area that I have kept near and dear for 40 yrs. This summer I visited for 10 days. Like I never left. You must visit the Steamship Arabia Museum at City Market. Very cool and interesting. While there browse the stalls like I did 40 yrs ago. Dine at Bo Lings or the River Brewery. Nightlife is great at the Power and Light Dist. downtown. Also a must do> The Ledgends dining and ... More

Nightlife is great at the Power and Light Dist. downtown. Also a must do> The Ledgends dining and shopping area and of course the Country Club Plaza. For a traditional KC Steak dinner the Golden OX has been around for more than 50 yrs. Thursday night is all you can eat KC Prime Rib the best.

We love to visit KCMO - it's a surprising city with much culture in art music and shopping along with many fountains in the plaza area. I say \go if you can\ - you'll have fun! And don't forget to take in the Arabian ship museum and the Central Station area. ... More

I was born and raised in KCMO and I have missed it a lot over the years. We moved to Tucson way back in 1951. I went back after highschool and then back to AZ. I return to KC at least every 2 years and yearly when possible to visit family and friends.\\ I think KC is a beautiful city. The older homes north of The Plaza are well kept and young families seem to be livinig in them. It is a long drive to the airport but it is quick. I just am not impressed with the airport. I wish they had more in the way of someplace to eat after you have gone through security. I am heading back this fall my favorite time of year.

Yeah so Kansas City might not be the best city in the United States but I love it. I'm proud to say I'm from KC and everyone else is too. There are plenty of interesting things to do here you just have to do a little research before you come. And as for the person who wrote that the famous jazz and blues clubs aren't all in the same place well you're wrong. And as for the person who wrote that the famous jazz and blues clubs aren't all in the same place well you're wrong. Though there are many different places to go and listen to jazz and probably some blues the jazz district is full of places to go for those of you who are fans of jazz. If you follow Paseo you run right in to it on 18th street. There's a jazz museum and of course the famous Mutual Musicians Foundation.
