One visitor here wrote "Key West has always been a gay place". LOL. Key West is like any other place. Families commuters people looking to make ends meet and yes even gays.

What makes this "place" special is not just it's residents but it's location. It's everything you can imagine and...more. The food the smells of flowers in the streets the hotels and guest houses the things to do. The water...the fishing...the learning...the excitement...the diving the treasure t... More

What makes this "place" special is not just it's residents but it's location. It's everything you can imagine and...more. The food the smells of flowers in the streets the hotels and guest houses the things to do. The water...the fishing...the learning...the excitement...the diving the treasure the sand. The drinks.

Key West is a state of mind. Visit then bring it home with you and...relax...but please don't move here.

frist off I'm not a raceist of any kind.
I am a 6th Gerneration conch my greatgrandmother&great grandfather frist came from cuba in 1900.any way I want to correct one of the review about key west always Being gay.
we have always been layed back and welcome everyBody .Please Don't write about something you absolutely not true..
so Please check your facts before you write or Print something about our wonderful Island...

4.Dry Tortugas

The Dry Tortugas are beautiful and well worth the entire day trip it takes but it costs a whole lot more than $5.00!!! That cost is just to get into the park. To get to the island you have to pay anywhere from $100-200 to get out there!
Start saving your money because it is worth it though.... More

5.Haunted Fort Jefferson in Dry Tortugas

If you get to Fort Jefferson just ask any park ranger who lives on the Fort about the long history of hauntings in the Fort. Like a US senator and his wife spending the nite in the VIP quarters. The Senator woke up during the night thinking his wife was out of bed when he saw a woman standing at the foot of his bed but it wasnt his wife or anyone alive. Another story is about rangers walking at nite along the top of the fort and having spectral civil war figures pass then and disappear.... More
