My husband and I have been to Key West many times, and every year we find a new  out of the way restaurant or discover a water activity, like the sunset cruise.  I was just there with a friend who had never been.  Try one of the Kayak tours with Danger tours, don't let the name scare you, they were awesome and the tour was very educational. If you've done your homework, the gays were instrumental in reviving the arts and restoring many of the lovely homes, so get over it and enjoy your stay.  My friend said it was a "life changing" trip and one of my favorites.  You can't beat the atmosphere where no one cares who you are and what you do.  Yes, it's my paradise away from home.
