KINGSTON is like any poverty strucken place in america just a smaller place and people move way to fast,locals are very strong with asking for money but are more than willing to provide some type of service for the dollars.In Jamaica hussling is all we have to make a dollar so dont be fooled by the lame A$$ reviews above.My people are kind people and NO U WONT GET KILLED FOR $5, Jamaican are very fond of travellers and are just excited to see some new face on the island.Dont be alarm as the will ... Yes, it is true. Jamaica is fraught with crime and at times violence, just as one would see anyplace there is poverty in USA. And like USA, poverty does not always result in crime and violence. Skip the tourist hot spots and check out the South side of Jamaica. Go to the Tranquility Bay area, the little resorts are safe and friendly. I've been to Jamaica about 5 times and I've always stayed at nice resorts in Runaway Bay and Ocho Rios. The resorts are wonderful, but you can expect some inconveniences at times because it's not the U.S.A. That's part of the culture and experience of Jamaica. Lighten up a bit. If you want perfection, then go stay at the Four Seasons or The Breakers. The staff and locals on the resorts have always been exceptionally nice, unlike what you find in Freeport or Nassau. In Kingston ..you can be killed for $ 5 .. and dont think you cant , (tip). go to Morgans Harbour Hotel in Port Royal.. you are safe there and it is very peaceful there...its same hotel that James Bond was at in Dr. No. ... Read Full Review | Report This

Been to Jamaica 3 times but never saw Kingston. Stayed at a resort on Runaway bay. Was warned not to go to Kingston. Went to Ocho Rios, climbed dunns river falls. went on a catamaran ride shopped bought jewelry.Golfed at resort, had fun but threee times is enough . No more for me. ... Read Full Review | Report This
