I also have stayed at the Sheraton Kowloon and my most vivid thoughts of Kowloon are coming out of the hotel and having to get into the flow of people walking. It reminded me of ants. Tons and tons of people. It is an exciting place. High tea at the Pennisula Hotel is something everyone has to experience. Hong Kong/Kowloon shopping is amazing. It is one huge shopping mall. Bossini Watsons Giordano and more. It is an amazing place with culture that I had missed only having travelled across the Atlantic. Now I have crossed the Pacific to Asia 16 times and love the trip. I though am a picky eater and had a hard time with food. Yes I ate at MacDonalds Spaghetti House TGIF Fridays and a french style fast food restaurant.

I agree with the previous review however; if you decide to stay in Shenzhen and want to move back and forth from Shenzhen to the New Territories or Hong Kong/Kowloon ensure that you have a multiple entry visa.I have been traveling to Hong Kong the past twelve years and enjoy each trip. I love the Sheraton in Kowloon as well as the Shangri-la and Penninsula - especially for High Tea! Kowloon is a very impressive area. However I have been there many times now and it has changed. It is still a place to go visitbut stay in Shenzen China and cross the border to visit. The hotels are way over priced for what you get. It use to be you can get a nice hotel for around $100 per night now the same hotels are well over $250USD per night. There is the metro that you can ride to Shenzen for about $3USD and stay at some very very nice hotels for around $50USD per night then just take the metro back to Kowloon or HK in the morning. When in Kowloon you have to go and have tea at the Penninsula Hotel. Tea starts at 2pm so you need to get in line aroung 1:30-1:45. It is well worth the time.
