Lahaina is one of those "you must see it" places and then decide if you want to go back again. I promise you most everyone will want to go back. If nothing else - to witness Lahaina in the daylight and then see it at night. This is a tourist mecca with a wide variety of shops. Every price range from ABC stores to very pricey art works. All are worth the visit. The tourist type opportunities are many but the serious art devotee has a wealth of prospects

Lahaina is one of those "you must see it" places and then decide if you want to go back again. I promise you most everyone will want to go back. If nothing else - to witness Lahaina in the daylight and then see it at night. This is a tourist mecca with a wide variety of shops. Every price range from ABC stores to very pricey art works. All are worth the visit. The tourist type opportunities are many but the serious art devotee has a wealth of prospects
The vast array of restuarants satisfies every palate and dining out can be a treat or a modest meal. From pizza to polynesian. ( It's not in Lahaina but if you are on Maui it is a big mistake to miss Mama's Fishhouse- outstanding- bring money though). The beach golfsightseeing whale watching-in season- many other options of sport ie: surfing sailing fishing snorkling boating ETC.
I feel warmly towards Lahaina but then I have visited near every Hawaiian Island have had several opportunities to visit Maui and Lahaina and have a warm spot for this and many other special spots. I have often encouraged many friends to visit Hawaii if the opportunity arises or to make the opportunity happen. In recent years my wife and I have been able to take our family with us and traveling with the kids ( two daughters- age 53 and 57 and their husbands). They make a grand trip even more so . They are just fun to be with and our trips are constantly up occasions. We aways stay on two islands (almost always Oahu and one other) and honestly -every trip is as exciting to me as the first. Everyone should somehow find the where-with-all to visit paradise- it is just that......
