Sorry folks most local folks are enamored by Lake George but really they are not enamored by Lake George VILLAGE. A five or six block of nothing but pizza places \Unique!\ gift shops T-shirt shops souvenior shops all carrying El Cheapo JUNK all made overseas. Just how many such places can one small town really support or really need? However the lake itself is really gorgeous especially north of the village with great scenery boating islands for camping small cozy towns with great reataurants... More

Just how many such places can one small town really support or really need? However the lake itself is really gorgeous especially north of the village with great scenery boating islands for camping small cozy towns with great reataurants and plenty of indoor and outdoor things to do in the Adirondacks besides shopping for \gifts\ getting crushed in crowds of screaming kids stalled in traffic jams and eating junk fast food.
