1.Lansing, Michigan Capitol Area and surrounding region

Stayed at the Radisson Hotel next to the state capitol and convention center. Streets and sidewalks were clean. Needs redevelopment and infrastructure for revenue generating businesses. Hotel was outstanding. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and committed to customer service. Rooms were excellent and well maintained, restaurant quality and service was outstanding. Stayed at the Radisson Hotel next to the state capitol and convention center. Streets and sidewalks were clean. Needs redevelopment and infrastructure for revenue generating businesses. Hotel was outstanding. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and committed to customer service. Rooms were excellent and well maintained, restaurant quality and service was outstanding. I would highly recommend the Radisson Hotel. I would definitely stay there again. Convention center was a great venue for the event attented. Ate at three area restuarants. Hickory Steak House in East Lansing, next to MSU. Superb and a 5 star. The second restaurant was Clara's Landing Station. This was three blocks from the hotel. The third was a nice hole-in-the- wall Chinese Restaurant on Washington near the Capitol. Menus were exceptionally varied and had wide selections. Service was great as well as the meals at all restaurants. The city of Lansing has been going through street repair and renovation that is much needed. Probably an economic sign of the times. Capitol was well maintained and clean during the tour. Capitol Police friendly and helpful.

2.Lansing truly is an armpit!

I've lived many places. Tulsa Dallas all over Florida and been all over the country. Lansing truly is a hole. Maybe it's the unemployment. Maybe it's the lack of funds to clean up the place. Maybe Lansing is just too close to Detroit (The Anus of the USA). Maybe the city could market itself as a place to view street people criminals rusty cars and dirt?... More

MI--The armpit of the world !What a mess this city is !The weather actually smells bad. Not enough sun to even dry your washing.People complain about everything everywhere. Unemployment must be rampat here. For a city that has made cars for years I can't see any NEW cars on the streets.Next door East Lansing seems to be a world away while actually it is only a four or five miles.Lansing is a loss!...
