It's an understatement to say that Liverpool is famous for the Beatles, and it's no surprise that most of the city's attractions are related to the Fab Four. Although difficult for die hard Beatles fans to imagine, the city does have other noteworthy attractions and many beautiful Liverpool hotels to choose from.
Of the big Liverpool hotels, the i Britannia Adelph and the Atlantic Tower Liverpool are the top two. The Britannia Adelphi is grand and luxurious with its traditional molded ceilings, marble corridors, and dark polished wood. It's only a short walk to the must see Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The first class Atlantic Tower caters mostly to business travelers and provides a spectacular view of the River Mersey.
Across from the home of the Liverpool Philharmonic stands the Hope Street HotelLiverpool's first boutique hotel. It sits high on a hill and features beautifully furnished rooms, exposed beam ceilings, and waxed oaken floors all of which contribute to a warm, cozy atmosphere. The hotel's on site bar is Liverpool's most sophisticated and a favorite for visiting celebrities. Less expensive Liverpool hotels include the Travelodge Liverpool Central, a two-minute walk from the Queens Square bus station, and the Express by Holiday Inn , centrally located at Albert Dock. Both offer functional and affordable accommodations.Where to start sightseeing? Relive the Beatles hysteria with a visit to The Beatles Story Museum. Tour the McCartney House, childhood home of Paul McCartney. See where it all started for the Beatles at the now famous Cavern Club they played here 292 times in the early 1960s. Although the present building is a reconstruction of the original built on the same site using the original bricks the Cavern Club is still a must see for Beatles fans.
