12 months in LA

I lived in LA for 12 months in 2003-2004 and will never complain about the midwest again. I'm still waiting for my nursing license I paid for. It takes all weekend to go buy groceries and stop at the drug store. It's rush hour traffic 24-7. My car was stolen and I had to drive to the police station to report it ( which was almost 20 miles away, and I stood in line for an hour along with people reporting missing family members, break-ins, robberies, assaults,etc.) After moving back to MO in ... I love LA

I've lived in Los Angeles since 1988. Before moving to LA I also lived in Washington DC, Las Vegas, NV, and San Jose, CA. Needless to say there are pluses and minuses to every big city. The LA positives are it's incredible diversity, beautiful beaches and mountains, great night life, many wonderful museums and art galleries, numerouse public and private colleges and universities, great amusement parks, and my favorites, the Venice Beach Boardwalk, Third Street Promanade, Griffith Park Obser ... don't fly into /fromLAX, if you can help it!

We flew from LAX into louisville and had a 5 hour wait, just to check our bags...missed the flight, got no help from the airlines, ended up on standby and had three connecting flights to get home. I'll never fly out of LAX again. We rented a car from Budget, which said that it was onsite at LAX- but, let me tell you, there are no rental cars within walking distance. You have to catch a tram and ride several miles around the airport in LAX traffic to get to all the rental cars site. I loved L ... Read Full Review | Report This

Nice place to visit but wouldn't want to live there

I visited the LA area last summer and it was OK but I don't think I'd ever want to live there. Most of the people I came in contact with were rude. Not saying all are rude just the ones i came in contact with. ... Read Full Review | Report This
