don't fly into /fromLAX, if you can help it! 
We flew from LAX into louisville and had a 5 hour wait, just to check our bags...missed the flight, got no help from the airlines, ended up on standby and had three connecting flights to get home.  I'll never fly out of LAX again.  We rented a car from Budget, which said that it was onsite at LAX- but, let me tell you, there are no rental cars within walking distance.  You have to catch a tram and ride several miles around the airport in LAX traffic to get to all the rental cars site.  I loved LA- but, next time I'm flying into Burbank, or Orange Co.
