2.Fantastic History and Friendly People

I would recommend visiting Luxor to anyone with the desire to see the ancient ruins Egypt has to offer. I have not been to see the Pyramids in Cairo but have been told they are right in the middle of the city. Luxor however is more rural feeling and the ruins are just about everywhere. People have pieces of ruins sitting in their front yards and the restored sites are just fantastic! Luxor Temple is really beautiful; I will never forget the painted columns there. People have pieces of ruins sitting in their front yards and the restored sites are just fantastic! Luxor Temple is really beautiful; I will never forget the painted columns there. It seemed to spread in every direction and around each bend was a new discovery. I as also impressed by the tombs in the Valley of the Kings where Greek looters had covered the hyrogliphics in what appeared to be modern-day graffiti but in reality was an attempt to destroy historic records. We only had a day or two to spend but got just enough of a view of everything to know that I'd go again at the drop of a hat!

3.Egypt is the Best!

Every city on the Red Sea is great. Located on the coast of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The diving is amongst the best in the world! People are very friendly crime is almost non-existent. Night clubs are open until dawn. Local breweries make wonderful beer. The cost of living is very very low! Spectacular place! Spent a day in the Valley of the Kings/Queens. Queen Hatshepsut Temple is amazing. Luxor Temple as well as Karnak Temple was fascinating. One of our many stops through Egypt. Did some snorkeling in Hurghada spent some time in Cairo also Aswan. One of our greatest trips.... More
