My wife and I went to Spain for our honeymoon at the end of December '06 and early January '07. Our first stop was Madrid, and if it hadn't been for rain dealys in Dallas, we would have arrived in Madrid some minutes before the terrorist group ETA bombed the airport. When we arrived at the airport, there was smoke everywhere and huge, huge lines to get out. We had no idea what had happened because no one seemed to be concerned about it.
