I have been to Malaga twice...once in April of 2007 and again in December of 2007. Malaga is known for its beautiful beaches in the summertime...but in April they have the Easter processions which are amazing to see...in December they have the Christmas festival and they decorate the streets in lights and there are various activities going on throughout Malaga...I recommend you visit the house of Picasso as well as the Picasso museum...note that the museum has very early Picasso work and sketch... I have been to Malaga twice...once in April of 2007 and again in December of 2007. Malaga is known for its beautiful beaches in the summertime...but in April they have the Easter processions which are amazing to see...in December they have the Christmas festival and they decorate the streets in lights and there are various activities going on throughout Malaga...I recommend you visit the house of Picasso as well as the Picasso museum...note that the museum has very early Picasso work and sketches as he was beginning his career...also visit \El Pimpi\ one of the most famous taverns in Malaga for its celebrity visitors such as Antonio Banderas Pedro Almodovar and many many others....when you are there order some tapas and some moskatel....its what this place is famous for...there are many places to dine for cheap...don't be afraid to walk around Malaga and find the smaller mom and pop restaurants/taverns...as they have some excellent Paellas and other specialties and the prices are just right. There is also Calle Larios...where you can shop for just about anything you need and there are various banks all over so that if you need your money exchanged it is not a problem....April is the best time during Easter Week because the religious processions are going on and it is an incredible site to witness....everyone comes out into the streets and those who live there have reserved seating throughout the town....everyone participates in these festivities....during December and April the nightlife is a bit slow....this is more of a beach town...so although they have a few places to go dancing at ...you dont see much going on...its also a bit cold in April and at times you need a coat...or jacket....as well as in December....I made friends online and got to stay at their home...( I dont recommend this idea for everyone....I speak Spanish and my friends were awesome so we did an exchange of sorts so they can stay with me when they visit New York)

Malaga is a lovely city in southern Spain on the Costa del Sol .... visit the house where Picasso was born enjoy the architecture restaurants/tapas BUT be weary of being robbed. As a single woman I had a young man of about 26 come through my 3rd story balcony doors which closely adjoined the next balcony at 3am ... I fortunately woke up to prevent him from taking my camera money passport ... he managed to get completely inside my room pass by my bed before I woke up to go to the bathroom ... I ... More

I never heard him .... I only knew he was in my room when I turned on the light after going to the bathroom to see what time it was .... so if you think you are safe on a higher level check out the balcony ... how close it is to the next one. I'm very sure it was an inside job ... not a guest or intruder but someone connected to the pension ... Arab .... who invaded my domain. A Dutch girl on the street told me to be weary of talking to people as she scurried by. Much of Spain felt somewhat unsafe to me. Enjoy but be careful especially if you are a woman traveling alone.
