Everglades Area

Mid-Island

This landlocked district isn't right on the shore, but there is still much to do and see in Mid-Island, and the beach isn't that far away. A great place to sit and watch the city in action is Pelican Plaza. Surrounded by restaurants, shops and other businesses, the plaza is a superb spot for people-watching and simply hanging out.

Naples

Naples is filled with natural beauty, art galleries and chic restaurants. Rookery Bay Reserve is crawling with over 150 species of birds and other animals. The estuary here is an astounding site. For a crash course in Florida history, visit the Collier County Museum and orchid house. A trip to Naples wouldn't be complete without browsing some high art. Fine selections can be found at Adams Galleries and Gallery Matisse. While exploring the galleries, you can find pieces by the masters,like Chagall, Picasso, and Matisse as well as work by local artists.
