I was an archaeological photo grapher on the Weatherill Mesa Project in 1959 and visited Mesa Verde several times since. The most notable sights are the ruins of the Anasazi or Ancestral Pueblo Indians who abandoned the ruins by the end of the 13th century. Don't miss Balcony House--most spectacular. However do not go there if you are afraid of heights. There is a 25 food climb on a ladder. The rest is up to you. If you have time see Long House and Mug House.
