friendly and absolutely charmingMy husband and I spent our honeymoon here 4 years ago and have managed to make it back every year. We will be arriving again in a few weeks. This is the most charming and quaint island I have ever visited. The locals are welcoming the hotels and restaurants are unassuming and the boutique shops are affordable yet chic. friendly and absolutely charmingMy husband and I spent our honeymoon here 4 years ago and have managed to make it back every year. We will be arriving again in a few weeks. This is the most charming and quaint island I have ever visited. The locals are welcoming the hotels and restaurants are unassuming and the boutique shops are affordable yet chic. If you want to escape from the crowd this is the place to go. (Although I would like to keep it as much of a secret as it used to be...with the travel Bahamas campaign of the past couple of years more people who aren't really cut out for this islands laid back style and lack of activities are making their way 'shore) On that note after reading the previous 2 reviews..I had to give my experience and Harbour Island the review I feel it deserves. Stay at Pink Sands for the beachfront view or Rock House and golf cart it over. Have lunch at Blue Bar or Sip Sip and spend the rest of the day on Pink Sands beach you have never seen a more beautiful beach. Take the golf cart to the local shops my favorites being Dilly Dally Sugar Mill John Bull and Valentines. Have a drink or dinner at Rock House for the most colorful sunset. Travel over to Tingum Village to Ma Ruby's for a cheeseburger and slice of key lime pie. Hands down the best key lime pie I've ever had. If you want to relax be casual and get around on a golf cart...Harbour Island is a place you will cherism. If you like the activities and attractions go to Paradise Island Harbour or Briland as the locals call it is not the place for you. This is just my .02!

Nine out of 10 people you pass on the street on Harbour Island today are wannabees from somewhere else. Who needs it. Dumb! I prefer the odds reversed. A long-time Bahamian traveller.... More
