We just returned from Utah last weekend. We loved the area. We stayed at Sorrel's River Ranch Resort just a quick drive along the river from Moab. We did not do any 4 wheeling or biking but were still able to enjoy Arches National Park as well as Canyonlands Islands in the Sky District and The Needles District. We didn't have time to raft or do any of the longer jet boat trips but we did to the Canyonlands by Night tour on our last evening there. ... More

When you get to Moab there are mountain bike trails and everything wonderful for a bikers needs. It is not very touristy so you can have your own view of it. Great for all ages and families. Delicate arch is one of the most beautiful things there including many other impressive arches. Many of them even bigger. there are also really cool animals such as lizards and jackrabbbits there. Fun refreshing place.... More

We did a driving tour of Moab and Arches National Park about 9 years ago. We got out and took a lot of photos but didn't do any hiking to speak of. It is surely a beautiful place to see and I'd recommend it to anyone. Amazing views and photo ops.Just another of the wonderful places here in the U.S to see.... More

If you go to Moab and visit the incredible natural wonderlands that surround - Arches Canyonlands Dead Horse Point - please PLEASE leave no footprint. If you go to Moab and visit the incredible natural wonderlands that surround - Arches Canyonlands Dead Horse Point - please PLEASE leave no footprint. There are too many four-wheel-drive Jeep-driving jerks who think it's perfectly fine to blaze a trail wherever they please. The ecosystems there are FRAGILE - including something called \cryptogamic soil\ which is basically a synergistic combination of lichens bacteria and sand that is what prevents erosion. When you step on it or drive over it like a self-centered idiot it is crushed and takes decades to regrow. Meanwhile all that glorious red sand can just blow away.Read the book Brave New West by Jim Stiles before visiting Moab. The book's subtitle \Morphing Moab at the Speed of Greed\ -- says it all.
