i lived in montreal in the early 70's, found a job dj'ing at a dance club. lived on maisomevue and drummond across from mont royal, did a lot of biking uo and down that lovely mont.
when rne lesveque and the pasti qucbeccois come into power, like sun life i moved to
toronto, as did doxens of friend of mine, who were english but lived there all their lives and spoke french better than the french. i went bakc after a few years asmd was aghast at the poverty level and how dirty it looked 9like it

Great shopping, food, and people. You can walk for hours with something new to see on every corner. The 'underground' shoping is fantastic....shop until you drop in any weather!

JUST 2 HOURS NORTH OF MONTREAL IS A SKIERS PARADISE

MONT TREMBLANT IS A BEAUTIFUL SKI VILLAGE JUST A SHORT DRIVE FROM THE MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT. JUST TAKE THE 15 AND THEN 117 NORTH AND STAY IN A CHALET OR RIGHT IN THE PEDESTRIAN VILLAGE WHICH HAS HOTELS,RESTAURANTS,BARS AND SHOPS GALORE. THE SLOPES ARE AWESOME AND THE SNOW COVERED LAKES AND MOUNTAINS ARE BEAUTIFUL.

Montreal Not a French as we thought

We really liked Montreal and would recommend it to anyone. It is a clean, safe, fun city. I was hoping for more French influence and there is some but it is well wrapped within a more core Canadian culture. You will fine great restaurants and French spoken everywhere. That said, if you did not lean to speak French in Canada you may find this version of it had to understand. Not bad, just differrent. You will not find the same French products and food in stores that you find in France. Do
