Decided to try a new location for a bachelor party other than Las Vegas. I had read that it was actually rated #2 behind Las Vegas for party fun. The plane tickets were fairly cheap and the hotel was inexpensive. Plus you can't beat the fact that the dollar goes further there. We were there during a weekend where the Corona Festival Reggae Festival Comedy Festival and St. Katherine's Street market were all being held. There was definitely never a dull moment. During the day were toured the city basically walking everywhere. St. Catherine's St. was the main hub of activity both day and night. The people were very friendly and always seemed to be in good spirits. \Fer Sher\ was always that answer for any request we made. As for food you definitely have to try \poutine\ as I had heard it was the local must have. It was DELICIOUS! Who couldn't like french fries with gravy on top and then melted cheddar cheese curds. The festivals were great. The Corona Festival basically closed off a cross street and all the bars had extended a patio into the street to host sitting areas and bars. It was just one big street party. There are a vast number of nightclubs and gentlemens' clubs to suite everyone's fancy. It's a must visit to go to Old Town Montreal and their cobblestone roads and open plaza full of great restaurants. If you love people watching this is a must visit about mid to late afternoon. Grab a dinner and sit in the patio to watch all the folks walking by and hanging out in the plaza. The narrow streets and cobblestone are reminiscent of what you would find in Europe. BTW brush up on your French. The majority of people speak fluent French unlike Toronto and Vancouver where English is spoken fluently. It's definitely good to know as you try to navigate and communicate with your cab driver and other locals.
