This was a great discovery that we learned about while camping at Montrose . It is beautiful canyon and the winding road to the bottom (just to the right of the entrance booth) makes for a great ride to the bottom . Very snakey road that reminds me of North Carolina's Tail of the Dragon. Another plus is the light attendence at the park. Nice road loop that gets you to some incredible views .... More

I've been to Black Canyon twice during visits to Montrose. It's a great place to just drive through and enjoy the scenery and have a relaxing roadside picnic even if you're not a hiker. Breathtaking scenery and the sound of rushing water will do plenty to undo your stress! Highly recommend it!... More

Its a great place to sight see. Montrose is close and is big enough to have many hotels and Restuarants. Its not very far from Pikes Peak to boot.Maybe a four hour drive.... More

Montrose!I recently moved to Montrose to get closer to nature and had never been to Black Canyon. There is so much to see and do in this area! Hiking through the canyon in the fall is one of the most serene experiences I've ever enjoyed. Between the Ouray hot springs Black Canyon Blue Mesa skiing in Telluride and all of the rafting this area has to offer I could not possibly ask for more!... More
