It is strange waht is said about Strangers Paradise.

I do not know that AOL user who was a medical student there but it is strange that Montserrat that was called ' stranger's paradise', was rude to him. I must admit things were grossly over priced but that is the way of a tourist town. If someplace is a dump to someone just leave. There were many other islands in the caribbean that had medical schools.

Lived there for 2+ years while in Medical school there. The place is a complete dump, everything is grossly overpriced, the people are not warm and friendly, in fact they're down right arrogant and rude. You eat at a 'restaurant', the food is garbage, the service is rediculous, and to top it off, they take as much as a tip as they want, without your permission, and there is nothing you can say or do about it. Montserrat-eliminated as port for cruise ships

Why don't cruise ships call at Montserrat. Apparently the threat of an erruption has diminished. We also have monitoring devises to warn of an erruption. I have never been there and don't want to pay the outrageous air fare that are listed.

Montserrat is a very lovely Caribbean island, fondly referred to as the Emerald Isle of the Caribbean. Having lived there several years ago, I can understand why. Unfortunately the vulcano eruption caused devastating destruction. The people are warm, hospitable and generous. The beaches are lovely with black sand and many hot spots.
