My wife is (Russian) from latvia, but her and I have had numerous trips to Moscow, because that is where we had to fly to in order to go to Siberia....long story short, you need to know where to go, and where NOT to go in this huge, metropolitan, sometimes scary city....most people are "somewhat friendly" no one bothers yu, but trying to get any information from anyone seems like a huge ordeal...the food was ok, the weather was cold, the traffic terrible, and the hotels over priced, cold and sma

I visited Moscow in 2002 and found a very nice people and beautiful city. My hotel was excellent and the food delicous. I was amazed at their subway system and the Tsum shopping center all 3 levels underground. The marble and chandeliers in the metro stations and the Tsum were beautiful. My friend Ludmila showed me around the town and she was the most beautiful of all. For me anyway. I could not believe all the new houses and subdivisions around the outskirts of Moscow as I flew for home. Very m

Russia and Moscow are great cities

About 12 years ago I had the priviledge of spending several months in Russia. Moscow,
St. Petersurg, and Chelyablinsk (in the Urals), even two days in Siberia. The people were wonderful. So many wanted to know about the U.S. and were very happy to tell me about their city and country. I was invited to various homes for dinner. Some of those dinners cost the individuals pretty close to a months pay but they went all out to host this American.
