the dream cityi go every year to oktoberfest in munich for a day or two [that's all one can take]. it is the one thing everyone should see.......i always stay in garmisch-partenkirchen in the alps about 1 1/2 hour by train but worth the ride. absolutely gorgeous........no industry so very theraputic and relaxing. munich offers wonderful shopping great food and the best selection of bier in the world. a great spirited and friendly group of people..........museums are some of the best in the worl... Munich has been my favourite city in the world since I saw it the first time several years ago. I keep gooing to that city fot its history splendor world class theatre the surroudning areas with the mountains and the proximity to Salzburg. There are the Coffee shops the restaurants of all classes museums and a fantastic subway system. I also took some courses at the University of Munich a world class University and paid very low fees. ... More

i've been there quite a few times and am never disappointed. Always something to do always people to meet. Yes it has the Bierhalls and that is where you met people from around the world. Get out of the tourist areas and go met the German people. Then you'll see Munich and Germany (and Austria too).... More
