munich,the dream city
i go every year to oktoberfest in munich for a day or two [that's all one can take]. it is the one thing everyone should see.......i always stay in garmisch-partenkirchen in the alps, about 1 1/2 hour by train, but worth the ride. absolutely gorgeous........no industry, so very theraputic and relaxing. munich offers wonderful shopping, great food and the best selection of bier in the world. a great spirited and friendly group of people..........museums are some of the best in the world, too. lots to do in this city and great for college age and up, with lots of universities in the area and a melting pot of people from all over the world.........don't miss this city.......best time to go is latter september, with the changing of the seasons and oktoberfest going on, etc.........also, it is less expensive than in the summer.....summer is nice, but it is more crowded and hotels are harder to find........stay in garmisch, you will not be disappointed and it is less expensive......go bayern.........
