Everything you have ever seen on TV about rude New Yorkers, Taxies, Matre D's and Snooty service people is completely untrue. I never met a single person iN Manhattan who was not firendly, happy to show off their city, and helpful to a Georgia stranger. ... Read Full Review | Report This

airport cabbies the worst

The cabbies in NYC are fine as long as you are in Manhattan and staying in Manhattan. (there are 4 other boroughs to the city) The problem is getting a ride from the airports to anywhere in the city. I live in Flushing and fly through laGuardia. The cab ride is no more than 10 minutes, but if you don't pay strict attention and tell the driver EXACTLY where to go and where to turn, they'll soon have you on a ride from hell just to run the fare up. I'm from NJ and live now in So. Carolina. While in New York, my family and I got lost looking for Little Italy. A woman who was ready to board a bus, stopped and gave us directions, missing her ride. The people of New York are absolutely wonderful, friendly and, God willing, my husband and I plan to move back to the Jersey area next year to be nearer to family and the wonderful city we love......New York City!! ... Small Town Girl

I was born and raised in a small town. Saginaw, Michigan. If you've heard of it, my bad. If you're from there, hear me out:New York City is the epitome of EVERYTHING. I was always told to be expectant of rude people (cab drivers, locals, business owners, etc). Not once (of the four times I've been there) have I encountered anyone rude or mean.
