Absolutely unbelievable that you can spend so little $$$ by learning in advance the 'free' days at the museums, Bronx Zoo, Botanical Gardens, etc. and then there are all the wonderful parks (Central Park, Riverside, etc.) for walking, jogging, tennis, etc). Plus the beaches. Even the subway/bus/train systems are cleaned up, safe, and quick. Food/restaurants are reasonable...it's just the hotels that cost big but you can find some bargains if you really search.... More
