I lived in Newport for 3 years.It's actually the souternmost part of Aquidnick Island Yes it is quaint and lovely. It's also very expensive. If you are on a budget for travel you might want to stay in Midledtown which is immediately up the road. Followed by Portsmouth. The island is three miles long and 1 mile wide. Colors are beautiful in the Autumn. LA Forge Casino restaurant (not a casino) in Newport is great.... More
