I'm not a Canadian but I've been to both sides of the falls, and the Canadian side is really where it's all at. Lots to do downtown, and the Niagara peninsula has one of the best wine regions in the world. However please don't drink and drive, if you think US laws are harsh, don't mess with Canada. Take the bus if you're gonna drink, don't end up in some Canadian jail. Also, consider a trip to the Falls in January -- for the view -- it's beautiful. There is an icewine festival usually in January also. In the summertime -- take the Maid of the Mist boat underneath the falls (you get wet so don't bring anything you don't want wet!
