2.Fascinated at how beautifull the water is

I took my mom and my three kids to Silver Springs in Oct 2007 on our way to Orlando. I had seen Silver Springs as a child at the age of five.. so that would have been 1981. I have never forgot the glass bottom boats after all this time. I really loved the water and was soo shocked at how clear and beautifull it was. The wildlife is somthing to see!! The grounds were well kept.. but the buildings with food etc and the stores are very worn down and need some serious up keep... There was a nice pet... More

There was a nice petting zoo.. but one thing I found odd and it did pluck my little girl.. was this huge turkey in the petting zoo.. bewarehaha it will attack. The gators were everywhere .. as we were leaving going across the bridge out of the park towards the parking lot and the kids started looking over the side and I asked what was there and they said a gator.. I was telling them not to lie to me and low and behold there was a small gator looking right up at us.. we all got a kick out of it. Great place to go and I plan to go there in July on my way back to Orlando...The water and wildlife is worth the money!! We even saw wild monkeys flying in the trees..

I have gone to Silver Springs since I was a child and now I am taking my granddaughter. It is a great park with a great price. They also have an adjacent Water Park that is great fun as well.... More

I first began coming to Silver Springs as a child growing up in Jacksonville in the 40's and early 50's . Back then it did not cost anything to get into the park. They had a public beach and Ross Allen had a reptile show there and there was also a seminole village and they lived there. You could visit all of this. We moved to Anthony in the early 50's and we still continued to go to the Springs. I had a lot of memories of coming up the silver river to the mouth of the springs and docking the ... More

You probably cant do that today but it is still a beautiful park to visit.
