being a native of pensacola all i can say is if you don't like it then don't come back,it's people like you that give this town a bad name.and as of jan of 2008 the was no hurricane ivan debri on the roads you must have watched some hurricane re-runs on the weather channel.every town has it's faults,i guess your from a fault free town,but i do hate that you had a bad experience here in the oldest town in the u.s. don't believe it read your history!!!

Gay Pensacola Beach: Memorial Day Weekend

One the the biggest gay events in the southeast is Memorial Day weekend in Pensacola Beach. Each year tens of thousands of gays and lesbians come to Pensacola Beach to party in the sun and enjoy the beautiful white sand and emarald water. Though this is normally a conservative town, for one week each year it becomes party central for gays and lesbians from throughout the southeast. I love Pensacola Beach...but don't tell anyone about it

If you have never been to Pensacola Beach, then you haven't been to the best beach. I have been all over the world and P'cola beach is still my favorite. You feel such peace there. There is something to be said for the small community that is recovering from the hurricanes that hit there. They are doing it all themselves, not whining like New Orleans for someone else to come in and "fix" them. Pensacola the city is not Pensacola the beach

Yes, the beaches are the whitest in the world, but at $1 million per beach front house, you can't afford to live near the beach. And you especially can't afford it when you realize that the jobs (unless military) are few and poorly compensated. Pensacola proper is pretty much not a pretty sight with run down trailer parks next to expensive retirement homes and major piles of Hurricane Ivan trash left out on the street (yes, all these years later).
