Peoria--Stay Away

The last time I visited Peoria it was terrible. We stayed at the Ramada on War Memorial. We got back from dinner around midnight. I went to sit by the closed pool area because I had hiccups and watching the water sometimes stops them. The worm of a night clerk came over instantly and ordered me to leave. Keep in mind I was sitting quietly--no booze no music no women etc. When I tried to tell the clerk why I wanted to sit there he whipped out his cell and called 911. Not wanting trouble ... More

Keep in mind I was sitting quietly--no booze no music no women etc. When I tried to tell the clerk why I wanted to sit there he whipped out his cell and called 911. Not wanting trouble with the police I returned to our room immediately. A few minutes later four Peoria cops knocked on our door put me in handcuffs (no kidding) then threw me my wife our two small daughters (crying hysterically while one cop told my wife to control her kids) and our dog out into the night. They said we were trespassing. How we could be trespassing when we paid for the room?I wrote the Peoria police chief the mayor the chamber of commerce and Ramada about this. No one sent any reply. So my advice regarding visiting or living in Peoria--DON'T.
