"Friday Night Socials" BBQ & Party! 
The Friday night all-you-can-eat Western Style BBQ is at the "Momma’s & Poppa’s" restuarent in a rural community in the far South of the Island and this party evening for the whole family is only on Fridays for 150 Thai baht. The restaurant, bar and small mini golf for the kids is in the middle of nowhere and so busy you have to reserve your spaces early the day before or via e-mail well in advance. The return hotel transfers from Patong only cost us 150 and the whole 6 hour evening with the BBQ, entertainment and transfers totaled 300 baht. Dinner begins at 6:00 PM and afterwards at 7:30 PM the drivers returned to the restaurant and transported us farther South down to the "Sunshine Bar" on Rawai Beach for some good music and great improvised entertainment around the "Dreaded Pole"!  Because of families and many others who have tours or activities planed for the next day the party breaks up at 10:00 PM so it was not an all nighter but it sure was fun for the whole family including the kids. We found this great night out on the tripadviser forums and it is hosted by their "Local Expert" and we contacted Richard via the forum's private messgage service.
