I have traveled all over the beautifully diverse country of Mexico and after seeing all of it's offerings I can honestly say the town of Playa Del Carmen is hands down my favorite place to relax and have a good time. Very diverse with 5 star hotels streching along the beach a bike ride away from town. Very diverse with 5 star hotels streching along the beach a bike ride away from town. Extremely friendly people roam the stone streets and it's so fun to find new little shops that sell anything and everything anyone would want. When the sun goes down the night life comes alive with clubs that open to the white sand beaches. Smiling faces in every direction this town is unforgettable and get's harder to leave each time I visit!

2.Playa del Carmen is a great alternative to Cancun

Playa del Carmen is a great alternative to Cancun. On the Mayan Riviera with beautiful beaches Playa is more quaint than Cancun. There is a height restriction on building so you don't have miles of high-rise strip hotels. There are tons of shops and restaurants. Also the visitors are much more international with visitors not only from the US but also Canada the UK Italy and Latin America. Playa is near Tulum which has some breathtaking Mayan ruins. 4.Playacar

We went to Playacar (Playa del Carmen) for a wedding/family vacation (3 travelers and all inclusive). We stayed the Sandos Playacar Beach Resort only because all of our relatives were staying there. The food and wait staff were great. Guest services definitely were not the best nor were the room accommodations (unless you stayed in the newer section which is far away from the beach and restaurants however they have golf carts to take you near them). Great first trip to Mexico (and we didn't get sick)!
