To this day, the American media's coverage of Haiti is focused almost exclusively on political turmoil and devasting poverty. While both are existing issues, the media continues to negate the uniqueness, beauty and humanity of Haitian people and their culture. I've just returned from a 6 week stay in Haiti, and it was truly an amazing experience!
