Not the major city you might think it is

I was very shocked the first time I went to Portland. I was living in Seattle at the time and thought that Portland, being the other well-known city in the Pacific NW, would be somewhat close to the size of Seattle. Boy was I wrong. Portland is a tenth the size (if that big) of Seattle and couldn't possibly qualify for being a true Metropolitan area. Comparing to size, it reminded me of Spokane, WA or Lexington, KY more than the Seattle, LA, SF, or Vegas size I always heard and was proported ... Read Full Review | Report This

Amazing City

Beautiful airport connected to the city by easily accessed public transportation. The city is easy to move around with a variety of different districts with unique characteristics. The downtown is small scale and user friendly for the first time visitor. Easy access to the willamette river and waterfront parks mke for an enjoyable outing. ... Read Full Review | Report This

A Sane City

Things seem to make sense in Portland. The buses go where you need to go, the layout makes sen se from NW tp SW etc. Downtown is interesting and easy to get around, and the train service is efficient.
