6.OLD TOWN - Restaurant Zone

As a frequent visitor to PV I have had plenty of time to explore and get to know the place.The old town on the other side of the River Quale is so very quaint. I spend most of my time there. Hotels are VERY reasonable - not too fancy - but adequate. The beaches there are the best and have lots of cafes etc right on the beach. This side of town is where you will find the BEST dining. You can find everything from French to Italian cooking. (I don't eat Mexican food so I am in heaven there).... More

You can find everything from French to Italian cooking. (I don't eat Mexican food so I am in heaven there). Another good place located way up the hill behind the Guadelope Church is called Bombo's. Best to take a cab - it's a quick trip and cost pennies. The food and view is spectacular as well as the service. You must make a reservation tho. It is very small. A must try....... I love \PV\. It is right up there with Bermuda and they are totally opposite. I have been to a lot of places and those are my two favorite. You get a lot more bang for your buck in PV tho. Bermuda is very expensive.

went with a friend and had a wonderful time. went in mid-may warm but not hot. will definitely go back. stay at the barcelo de jolla mismaloya (close to the spelling) all inclusive right on the beach...great great views. people in town were wonderful great shopping. we ate several times at a cuban restaurant in town right across from the beach. the cobblestone street are terrific and give it a warm feeling. we went on a couple trips...snorkeling was good but the jellyfish were swarming. ... PV is a great town with lots of character if you look in the right places. Cross the river and go into old town it's authentic Mexican and much less touristy. We really liked Barcelona Tappas and Daquiri Dick's as well as the smaller restaurants in old town.Consider a day trip to Yelapa it was fabulous!... More

I love how many things there are to do in Puerto Vallarta! I just got back from my second trip there and I took two tours through http://www.vallartadiscovery.com and they where amazing! ATV riding was so fun and my daughters loved horseback riding.If you're in the city for vacaton I definitely recommend going on a tour :)... More
