We live in New England and travel every winter to escape the cold for a week.  We've been many places, and I must agree, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico was wonderful.  My only complaint is that I am a "beach" person, and in February, the ocean water is cold here.  If the pool is your choice, this is a great part of Mexico to explore.  We felt safe and loved bargaining with the locals at the Flea Markets.  It is truly a beautiful city.  Just a note, we stayed in a 5 star hotel, all inclusive family of 4 with air and the trip was only  $2500. You can't beat it!!!!
